Prashant Kamat, professor of chemistry and biochemistry within the University Notre-Dame, finalized a revolutionary mixture!
It is a photovoltaic paint, made from a subtle mixture of nano-particles called quantum dots, incorporated into a spreadable compound. More precisely, "Sun-Believable" consists of nano-sized particles of titanium dioxide coated with either cadmium sulfide or cadmium selenide and suspended in a water-alcohol mixture to create a paste. Finally, this one-coat solar paint can be applied to any conductive surface without special equipment and is capable of generating electricity thanks to simple exposure to daylight!
